Frequently Asked Questions

Who is 24+ Connect for?

Our audience includes all individuals 24-39 years of age, who are single, part of the greater Unificationist community, are open to building new friendships, and are looking towards the possibility of finding a life partner.

Do you have to call yourself a Unificationist to participate?

Nope. Your spiritual process is a lifelong journey and you don't have to be a practicing Unificationist to partcipate. That said, we are a faith based organization and it's important that you're familiar with our Unificationist faith tradition, core values, and approach to marriage. We encourage participants to let go of labels and simply come to build relationship with members of our national and international community.

Are retreats open to 1st Gen and JC Gen?

Yes. 24+ Programming and Retreats are not geared towards any “generation”. We can't speak for the participants themselves, and Intergen relationships are still a challenge for many Unificationists, but we absolutely believe that there is "somebody for everybody" and want to encourage you in your life and relationship goals.

What about people with complicated relationship histories?

The 24+ Staff are not matchmakers, our hope is simply to facilitate events where you can meet other singles who share your faith tradition and values. Regardless of your past journey our programming is open to you if you're open to it. Naturally, we encourage everyone carrying past burderns to take time to process and heal before looking to start a new relationship. We also ask that previously Blessed/Married participants have completed dissolution and/or divorce before registering for any events.

Where/How do Retreats take place?

Currently we have two Retreat options - Virtual and In-Person. Virtual Retreats are hosted on Zoom, and In-Person retreats are typically at Camps across the nation.

What will be different for returning participants?

Participants are the ones who make the program. We are always striving to make the programming engaging and fresh regardless of whether you've attended in the past. Each retreat has its own unique flavor in terms of themes, testimonies, and of course partcipants!

Is it OK to come just to meet new people but not necessarily look for a life partner?

Totally! Participants come for a variety of reasons: Looking to make friends or connect with the community, taking some time off from life to explore, or hoping to meet the one. So come and meet up, relax, have fun, and enjoy.

For someone who is shy, will there be support for meeting new people?

We offer two different retreat options - Virtual and in-person. You may feel more comfortable in one format over the other, but we always try to incorporate a mix of structured activities that help foster communication. Opportunities will be created for everyone to converse, connect, and get to know each other. Keep in mind that this experience, like everything else, will ultimately be what YOU make of it.

How are the participant costs decided?

In-Person Retreat costs are primarily based on the facility. We do a lot of research to try and find sites that can accomodate groups of our size but still strike the right balance between location, ammenities, comfort, and price. Some of the program fees go to cover overhead costs of 24+, including compensating staff and offering honorariums to guest speakers for their time and effort. Surplus income goes into our scholarship fund so we can keep the program accessible to as many people as possible.
